Sustainability and environmental protection | Allianz Arena

Operating an arena that accommodates tens of thousands of fans almost every week and is also used for a wide variety of events poses a particular challenge for environmental management. Our goal is to minimise the ecological impact of this. Every step we take is therefore viewed in the context of the associated environmental impact. Measures to save energy, water and raw materials as well as climate protection in connection with the reduction of CO2 emissions are to be rigorously implemented and new ideas to protect the environment consistently developed. An ecologically compatible future is close to our hearts.
"As a stadium operator, we don't just want to offer people a first-class football experience. We also have a responsibility towards future generations and the environment. It is therefore our aim to organise all our activities in a way that conserves resources as much as possible and aligns them with environmental and climate protection," says Jürgen Muth, managing director of Allianz Arena München Stadion GmbH.
EMAS (Eco Management and Audit Scheme)
In 2006, the Allianz Arena was awarded EMAS certification and since then has seen it as an obligation to continuously improve its environmental performance through ongoing review, planning and implementation of specific measures.
Guiding principle ‘Mitnand’ - FC Bayern's sustainability report
With its sustainability strategy “Mitnand” (Bavarian for togetherness), FC Bayern is aiming to set an internal course to credibly utilise its external reach for the sustainable development of the environment and society.
MAN charging hub
In collaboration with its partner MAN Truck & Bus, FC Bayern has built an ‘HPC charging hub’ for eTrucks and eBuses in front of the Allianz Arena. Find out all about it here.

Environmental statement
The purpose of this environmental statement is to inform all visitors to the stadium, our employees and service providers as well as interested members of the public about environmental protection at the Munich Allianz Arena:
Member of the Climate Alliance
Since 2015, the Allianz Arena has been a member of the Climate Alliance, a broad social network for more climate protection in Bavaria. The partners have set themselves the goal of raising awareness of the issue of climate protection, promoting understanding for the sustainable use of scarce resources through joint campaigns and encouraging climate-friendly behaviour.
Member of the 2040 Climate Pact
The Allianz Arena is a proud member of the ‘Climate-neutral Bavaria 2040’ action network. Together with other social partners, we are committed to greater climate protection, acknowledge our self-imposed obligation and report transparently on our energy consumption and CO₂ reduction programmes every year.
