The spectators in the Munich Football Arena witnessed nothing less than history being made when Lamine Yamal scored in the 21st minute to equalise for Spain and make it 1-1. At just 16 years and 362 days old, the Iberian attacker became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the European Championship and, with his skillful finish, turned the game in his team's favour in the semi-final. Just four minutes later, Dani Olmo put La Furia Roja ahead with another impressive individual effort.
The French had actually started the game well and gone ahead through an early Randal Kolo Muani strike in the 9th minute. However, the runners-up from the last World Cup were unable to create much more despite their high-calibre attack, and the Spanish double blow midway through the first half ultimately decided the game. Spain progressed to the final and went on to beat England in the final.
