Atlético win Audi Cup 2017
Atlético Madrid downed Liverpool 6:5 on penalties following an intense 1:1 draw, winning the Audi Cup. Atlético prevailed in the shootout, the second Spanish side to win the high-calibre pre-season tournament after FC Barcelona in 2011. FC Bayern are record Audi Cup winners, having won the trophy in 2009, 2013 and 2015.
Bayern Munich on the 4th place
FC Bayern suffered their second defeat within two days in the third-place play-off of the 2017 Audi Cup. In an almost repeat performance of the semi-final, the Reds dominated the play against Napoli but again found themselves behind early on to Kalidou Koulibaly’s goal after a free-kick. At the end the Reds lost 0:2 against SSC Neapel and finish the Audi Cup on the 4th place.
