With the renaming, the City of Munich is not only honouring Franz Beckenbauer’s sporting triumphs but also his decades-long commitment to football and his close connection to Munich. More than a symbolic gesture, it’s an expression of deep gratitude and ensures that his legacy lives on for future generations.
As well as his name, our new address carries his legendary shirt number 5, with which Beckenbauer gave us many unforgettable moments.
