The Detroit Lions will play a regular season game at the Allianz Arena. The appearance is part of a multiyear agreement on further NFL international games in Munich – including in 2028.
In wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has close ties to Germany, Detroit will be bringing a fan favourite with a special connection to the local audience. Munich is thus consolidating its status as one of Europe's leading football cities.
The game in Munich in 2026 will be one of nine international games across four continents, seven countries and eight stadiums. It’s part of the growing international NFL programme, with other games taking place in London, Madrid, Melbourne, Mexico City, Paris and Rio de Janeiro.
The Lions' opponents, along with the date and kick-off time, will be announced when the full 2026 NFL schedule is released in the spring. Ticket information will also be confirmed at a later date.
